The story of The Cozy Coo cafe and Gifts began during one of the most difficult times in our family’s life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we sadly lost our husband and dad after he contracted the virus while working as a paramedic during the height of the outbreak.
He had always dreamed of one day opening a café in the Highlands of Scotland—a place where people could come together, slow down, and enjoy good food, good company, and a warm welcome. After his passing, we made the decision to honour that dream by packing up, starting a new chapter, and bringing his vision to life here in beautiful Dufftown, Moray.
Today, we are proud to run our family café on Fife Street alongside our gift shop on Balvenie Street. Together, they reflect everything we hoped to create: welcoming spaces filled with comfort, character, and a little Highland charm.
Our café is somewhere to relax with coffee, cake, and delicious food, while our gift shop offers a carefully selected range of gifts, homeware, souvenirs, and special finds.
More than just businesses, these spaces are part of our family’s journey and a way of keeping a dream alive. Whether you’re joining us for a bite to eat, browsing for the perfect gift, or simply stopping by to say hello, we’re so glad to welcome you.
Thank you for being part of our story.

Meet Our Team
We’re a small family-run business, and each of us brings something special to The Cozy Coo.
Bev is the owner of The Cozy Coo and the talented baker behind all of our sweet treats. A trained confectioner, she creates all of our homemade goodies, from cakes and brownies to fudge and other delicious bakes you’ll find in the café.
Sarah is the creative mind behind many of the gifts and handmade items you’ll find in our shop. She also manages our website, helps keep everything running smoothly, and works front of house welcoming customers.
Darren is our chef, bringing plenty of experience and passion to the kitchen. Having trained as a pizza chef in one of Edinburgh’s busiest sports bars, he now serves up fresh, made-to-order pizzas every Friday evening at The Cozy Coo.
Kat is our Front of House Manager and an important part of the warm welcome you’ll receive when visiting us. With extensive knowledge of the local whisky industry, she’s always happy to share recommendations and chat all things whisky with visitors exploring Dufftown. Kat has a love for funny signs and a passion for karate, bringing plenty of personality and humour to the team.
Together, we work hard to create a warm, welcoming space where everyone can enjoy good food, unique gifts, and a friendly atmosphere.
